Celebrating Identity and Diversity through Artistic Innovation
PETALING JAYA, 27th May 2025 – A group of talented and determined students from Infinite Minds Academy has captured the spotlight award at this year’s MR.DIY Art Competition 2025, winning praise for their extraordinary mural titled “The Many Faces of Us.” The artwork, a vibrant interpretation of the competition’s theme “Identity and Diversity,” has earned them national recognition under the Educational Institution category.
The mural is nothing short of remarkable — a majestic tree made from different materials including rock, paper, string, and reflective glass. But look closely, and you’ll see its trunk and branches are made entirely of faces. Each face tells a story. Each one is crafted using rocks, paper, string, reflective glass, and more. Some rough, some shiny, some soft — just like people. Together, they form a powerful symbol of unity in diversity.
The young artists behind this powerful piece are:
- Johnny Wong Chong Ee (born 1999)
- Noorluqman Haqim Bin Noorazli (born 2002)
- Kim Li Zhi (born 2005)
- Dylan Magness (born 2008)
- Arunav Roy (born 2007)
- Sadhana Gnasekaran (born 2002)
- Nahil Mohamed (born 2004)
- Chai Jo Sheng (born 2009)
Each student brought their own experiences and artistic flair to the mural, making the project a living celebration of inclusivity. Under the guidance of their mentors, these young creators from Infinite Minds Academy not only showcased artistic excellence but also used their work to communicate a larger social message: everyone has a face, a story, and a place in this world.
The mural will soon be displayed in our academy, inviting viewers to reflect, feel, and celebrate what makes us unique.
At Infinite Minds Academy, creativity knows no boundaries. By nurturing the talents of neurodiverse and special needs youth through digital and artistic education, the academy is redefining what inclusion looks like — turning potential into impact, and imagination into opportunity.
